Crimany…

Well, things got screwed up and it looks like we won’t be heading down to San Antonio until late June.

Of course, this changes things a bit.  For one, I’m a bit uncertain as to whether or not I’ll be able to attend the San Japan convention.  For another, I’m going to need to start looking for temporary work here in Baltimore area.  I don’t think that last bit will be a big deal, though.  Done it before and it worked out okay for me.

I’m actually kinda looking forward to working again – even if it’s just as a basic laborer.  The expectations weren’t all that high, your instructions were always clear, and the scenery always changed.  One day I worked in a factory helping to make heat exchanger coils.  Another day I worked at a construction site around a church, and then for a week after that I was at a military base helping to renovate some barracks.

Now with the qualifications I have now, I wonder what sort of work I’ll get now.

I might even continue with that course while I’m in San Antonio – a lot of times when an employer on the job site likes what he sees in a temp worker, he’ll arrange to hire you on permanently.

Well, here’s to hoping that everything works out – I already have my truck, and that’s a huge plus, even if it needs some body work done.
